We’ve struck a deal (almost) with a major retail chain.

He’s excited about the possibilities (naturally) and is eager to get the agreement. The reason he's so eager is because he’s confident that he and his team are going to be worlds ahead of the other brands in the space when it comes to marketing. His plan is to take over the market.
